Knockout City Chronicle #2

Learn more about what’s coming this week to Knockout City, including Patch 1.2!

Knockout City Chronicle #2 - Monday, June 14, 2021

Happy Monday, brawlers! Time to rise and grind—whether it’s that sweet Coffee Bean’d special brew or ranks in League Play, let’s get at it. That Street Rank isn’t going to level up by itself!

Patch 1.2

Patch 1.2 is out today, and you can find the full list of patch notes here, and in our #patch-notes channel on our Discord. It’s full of bugfixes galore! We always want to hear from you, so take a stroll around the streets of Knockout City and let us know your thoughts. As always, we invite you to help us spot items that need improvement.

This patch addresses matchmaking issues that resulted in high ping times, some bugs preventing players from playing in matches (yet still being able to hear them), settings not saving on PC, mouse stutters on PC, crashes on Nintendo Switch, and more.

Season 1, Week 4

Get ready, because things are shaking up this week, and rumor has it a big brawl is about to go down. This week’s brand-new Playlist is Big Team KO, a 4v4 mode where the first foursome to 15 KOs wins the round. With so many players on the field, and so many points at stake, it might be worth having a little huddle up with your teammates ahead of time for this one—charging in and lobbing balls without a plan could mean the opposition swipes this one out from under you before you have the chance to recover.

Get in your last matches for Team KO and Ball-Up Brawl tonight, because as of 12pm (noon) UTC tomorrow, they’ll be leaving the Playlist rotation (but not forever!). If you’ve been clutch on Team KO since launch, it’s time to switch up your style and get down in Coin Hoarders or KO Chaos. Don’t fret though, Team KO and Face-Off are still available in League Play!

Speaking of teammates, the whole Crew is going to love sporting this week’s Crew Contract rewards. Complete any 2 Contracts and you’ll unlock the Ninja Cat Crew Logo, a perfect complement to the Player Icon you may already be rocking. Why stop there? Finishing off four Contracts means you’ll be cruising up in the bright red Sunset Speedster Vehicle.

If the Crew Logo from your weekly Crew Contracts doesn’t strike your fancy, we’ve got the first Legendary Crew Logo hitting the Brawl shop this week as well. Rampant Knight harkens back to the days of olde, where people fought battles with swords and shields instead of dodgeballs. Either way, if you want a badass crest with a holosword, holoshield, and holo...lion on your back, this will be in the Brawl Shop on June 17th for 600 Holobux.

This week we also have some very special items rotating into the Brawl Shop, in support of our black friends and coworkers, honoring Juneteenth. Each day this week, one of three Legendary Player Icons will be available: Unity, Liberty and BLM. These icons are—and always will be—free to all players. We created these icons to honor and support the black community, our friends, coworkers, and fellow teammates.

Pride month is still going strong, and our Pride Icon pack will also continue to be available forever. This month, individual items will rotate through the Brawl Shop, you can unlock your select items with individual codes (list here), or you can unlock all of them at once with code: 52T3-BMJD-3QNL-BQWB-LWK9.

Play of the Week

Some plays are short, sweet and super satisfying, and this is one of them. This week’s Play of the Week is from @LetsPlayLucas on Twitter, who caught and tossed his opposition off the map like a pro.

Community Catwalk

@SovereignSyd nailed it with this glowing brawler outfit, light-up epic glasses, and even got the dodgeball *chef’s kiss*. Can’t wait to see more of these at conventions in the near future! 🤞

If you want your clips, characters (pets?) to be considered for future issues of The Knockout City Chronicle, submit them through our Discord!
