Knockout City Chronicle #3
Knockout City Chronicle #3 - Monday, June 21, 2021
Knockout City is hitting record-high temperatures, but the brawls aren’t showing any sign of slowing down! Grab your highest SPF sunblock and your favorite sunglasses, because this event is putting off some strong radiation!
Highlights
This Chronicle is shaping up to be a doozy! There’s a lot to unpack, so get comfy! Read on for more on:
- Details about Heatwave, coming at you hot starting tomorrow!

- On PC, the game will no longer become quiet or “duck” other application audio.
- Reported cases of mouse lag and stutter on PC have been improved.
It’s a Heatwave!
Welcome to our first Knockout City event. Hope you brought a handheld fan, because it’s going to be a scorcher! Starting tomorrow, you’ll find new collectibles, Heatwave Event Contracts, and exclusive Event Shop items all designed to help keep you cool while you brawl.
Picture this: you’re about to pummel your opponent in Street Play when you see frozen treats taunting you from off in the distance. Don’t worry, they’re not a mirage. Those ice-cold treats have cleverly been hidden around town in spots designed to get you to work up a sweat as you scramble to reach them. When you get your sticky fingers on a crisp, cool Ice Pop, you’ll find it does more than just help keep you cool—each one gets you closer to unlocking Event Contracts, which will reward you with exclusive Heatwave Tickets. Gather up your tickets and cash them in at the Heatwave Event Shop in exchange for limited-edition Heatwave items, from the Summer Dad outfit (bad dad puns not included) to the Epic Lazy River MVP pose, which will have you floating past your defeated (and dehydrated) opponents with ease.
Ready to tick off those Heatwave Contracts? Simply start brawlin’. Each map in Street Play has a few Ice Pops scattered around, for a grand total of 100. Collecting all the Ice Pops in each map will get you 60 Heatwave Tickets, plus each one you collect will count toward your total number found. For every 25 you collect, you’ll complete another Event Contract, up to 100.
How you want to tackle collecting all 100 Ice Pops is up to you, but you may need a teammate to help you. These melty little buggers are easy to spot, but can be challenging to reach. Team up with friends and shout out locations as you discover them, but be sure to keep one eye on the dodgeball, because successfully completing 50 matches and winning 50 matches will each count toward additional Heatwave Contracts worth 60 tickets each.
Did someone do the math? How many tickets is that? 🤔 Let’s say a bunch and call it a day—it’s too hot for math. Plus, you’ll earn extra Heatwave tickets from playing in matches in Street Play and League Play throughout the duration of the event. What’s important to remember is that if you complete every Heatwave Contract, you’ll get the Legendary Ultimate Hologram: the Holo Hydrant.
Stay hydrated, and move fast, because Heatwave event items will only be available during Heatwave, which runs until 12 p.m. (noon) UTC / 8 a.m. ET / 5 a.m. PT on Tuesday July 6, so make sure you check off every contract and discover every Ice Pop before then!
Season 1, Week #5
What’s that? You want MORE, with all we’ve just detailed? Coming at you from the Brawl Shop, hotter than a fried egg on a sidewalk, is a limited-time, complete set of custom Legendary items designed specifically to create the ultimate Summer dodgebrawl champion. Find the Legendary Water Balloon Warrior outfit, Bubble Dome hat, Windshield Wipe-Out glasses, and Water Gunned: Summer Fun gloves. Each item will continue to cycle through the Daily Item store each day of the Heatwave event. Get the entire set for only 3600 Holobux!
This week’s Crew Contracts have some smokin’-hot items to unlock. By now, completing two of them is easier than finishing a snow cone on a hot summer day. Two Contracts earns you the Thorny Situation Crew Banner, but grind your way to completing four of them and you’ll find yourself sitting pretty in the Grey and Graceful Crew Vehicle. It matches your eyes—dark, brooding, and locked onto the enemy.
