Knockout City Chronicle #5
Knockout City Chronicle #5 - Monday, July 5, 2021
Welcome back to another action-packed Monday, starting your day off right with The Knockout City Chronicle! Let’s get right into it so we can get back to brawlin’!
Patch 1.4
Patch 1.4 is coming out shortly, and you’ll be happy to know that this round of bug fixes addresses several in-game issues brought forward by members of our community. We’re hoping you’ll see a measurable improvement when this patch goes into effect at 12 p.m. (noon) UTC on Thursday, July 8 (find your time zone here). As always, thank you for bringing bugs to our attention so we can work to improve the game. If you find a bug, you can report it on our Discord.
We’ll post the entire Patch Notes when it goes live, but until then, here are a few highlights you can look forward to:
- Previously completed crew contracts should now count as progress for the “Season Reward” crew contract. Your progress should update in this contract when you boot up the game next—please let us know if you continue to experience issues!
- Improved match loading logic to fix an issue where some players could not load into the match until after the intro cinematic
- Fixed an issue where fake-throwing a Sniper Ball at full charge while swapping enemies would erroneously keep the full charge
- Fixed a rare issue where a player’s Street Rank would be displayed as level 1 upon match completion
Season 1, Week 7
Our favorite item available in the Brawl Shop this week is a heckin’ Bullseye! No, really! It’s the Epic KO Effect “Bullseye!” and it’s available today. If you want to know what’s available every single day, head on over to our Discord server and check out the new #Brawl-Shop channel, which will conveniently update daily with the newest item to roll into the shop.
We’ve been hearing some folks ‘round these parts ask, “Gee whiz! Why are some people rocking a 30% XP Boost?” Well, Billy Brawler, you see, when a Crew gets together and knocks out all six Crew Contracts for the week, they get a 5% bonus. That bonus is stackable through the end of the season. Seeing as this is week seven that we’re headed into, that means if you’ve been keeping up, this week you’ll actually be on a 35% boost! To keep you motivated along the way, this week, you can look forward to the Spring Sting Crew Logo back piece after completing two contracts and the Bubblegum Blitz vehicle after completing four contracts!
Playlists
This week, you can look forward to battling it out in Triple Team Chaos, a 2v2v2 mode we hinted at in a Dev Team Stream on June 22nd. Oh, you weren’t there? Well, be sure to tune in this week at twitch.tv/knockoutcity as we debut this new Playlist, where three teams duke it out in a TEAM free-for-all. First team to 15 KOs wins the match! What’s the catch? Well, with only one round, you’re going to have to stay on your toes!
Players’ Choice
We’ve got one more trick up our sleeves this Season, and for this one, we’re looking to you, our community, to help shape the future of the game. In Week 9, we’ll be kicking off a Double XP Event, which comes with a unique playlist chosen by you, our players! We’ll post the link to vote for your favorite on Twitter and in our Discord.
