Basketbrawl Blossoms Again with Basketbrawl+!

Ever since our rogue A.I. friend rolled through town back in Season 3 and added hoops, we’ve all taken a shine to scoring slam dunks and downtown throws! 

In the Basketbrawl+ playlist, the pre-match ball roulette will bring you a volatile forecast–will it be a calm, clear day of Basic Balls? Or will it be scattered showers of special balls with a Party loadout? Who knows? Either way, here’s the scoop: score hits on your opponents to force them into a dunkable Ballform state, then throw them through the nearest hoop to score three points! You’d better aim well, because KOs from out-of-bounds only give you one point each. Get 21 points to win a round, best two of three!

Dex’s Tech Tips: Go for the Mari-Gold! 

Basketbrawl+ is a whole other animal – wanna hatch a plan to get you those wins and a constant stream of Chococoins?

• Break out the Ballforms! Taking two hearts of damage will force a brawler into Ballform for a fixed amount of time, but you can end it early! Landing a hit using a zero-heart teammate will instantly revive your teammate with a single heart! 
• Don’t Wait, Incubate! Just like a Cage Ball, charging an Ultimate Throw holding a zero-heart teammate will also revive them with a single heart, bringing them back to the brawl immediately!  
• Don’t Put All Your Brawlers in One Basket! With several hoops scattered throughout the arena, have a plan to get a Ballformed opponent to one ASAP for three-point plays. If you don’t have a clear shot on a hoop, then pass to a teammate in a better position – they may be able to take advantage of that Overcharge and score! 
• Deny the Dunk! Uh-oh, you’ve been Ballformed! Sometimes, the smart play is to take the hit to your score by rolling into a nearby pit or hazard – getting KO’d this way only provides one point as opposed to giving up three points for a hoop KO. On the flip side, if there’s no hoop in sight, you may have to settle for an offstage KO – a point on the scoreboard is better than none, so don’t get egg on your face!
• Cage Balls Count! If you’re lucky enough to have Cage Balls in your match, then spring the trap! A caged opponent will score you easy hoop KOs without needing to deplete their hearts if you can score them in time! If Party Cage Balls gets chosen…Wow. That’ll be somethin’ to see!

All this egg-hunting, basket-making, candy-chomping action can only last for so long, so make plays while the sun shines – Spring Fling stays until April 26t!
